He began his career as a still photographer and became involved in the early years of motion pictures; even becoming an actor for a bit. He was a well-known photographer with his pictures appearing in many newspapers across the country.

Steven Steigman is best known for his iconic photograph Blown Away Man, which features a man sitting in an armchair in front of a stereo, appearing to be blown away. Originally an advertising image, it's been hailed as a pop culture icon and has been used by many television shows and musicians alike in their work.
